On September 28, Linea announced its Voyage XP soul-bound tokens campaign. We have built this guide to help you understand Linea’s network and how you can get secure a potential airdrop. Let’s jump in!
What is Linea?
Linea is an Ethereum layer-2 blockchain protocol that uses zk-Rollup technology. The blockchain aggregates user transactions and utilises ZK Proofs to confirm these transactions on Ethereum, concurrently. zkEVM rollups, like Linea, process transactions more cheaply than other layer-2s (OP and Arbitrum) as they post less data to Ethereum.
Linea network is a byte-code compatible zkEVM with smart contracts that are coded and processed identical to Ethereum Mainnet, unlike competitors such as zkSync 2.0 and Starknet. This means quicker build times and scalability - and less unknowns for developers and users alike.
ConsenSys is the company behind Linea and they’ve been around web3 for a while with widely-used products like MetaMask Wallet and Infura.
Wen token?
ETH is the gas token on Linea and the network has not announced any airdrop of a native token - this is not surprising given the current regulatory environment in the US (where ConsenSys is based).
Interestingly, the network roadmap calls decentralised governance which indicates a potential airdrop is on the way - we strongly recommend you perform on-chain activity on Linea. We will watch and update our community as we hear more.

Linea is a promising ecosystem with much to be excited about - as follows:
Layer-2 Summer incoming: as both a zk-EVM & a layer-2 blockchain, Linea ticks two blockchain narrative boxes for the upcoming bull.
Fast growing ecosystem: Over 60 projects are building on Linea with Aave, SushiSwap and PancakeSwap set to launch soon.
Well funded: Since 2019, ConsenSys - Linea’s builder - has raised $726 million from VCs & large corporations such as SoftBank, Temasek and Microsoft and is valued at USD 7 Bn.
Well connected & experienced: ConsenSys has built high-quality and widely used Web3 apps that are loved by users and developers alike. Linea will showcase for optimised and scaled use cases for ConsenSys’ products.
You are still early: Linea only has $30M in TVL and has consistently managed to retain strong core developer numbers (~40) which is more than its competitors - Base & zkSync. There are also some competitive DeFi yields available for farmers.
Linea Airdrop guide
Here is our curated airdrop guide for Linea - complete the steps and get some activity on-chain for your edge.
Add the Linea network to your wallet - If you are using Metamask, Linea should already be available as a default network in your network selector. For other wallets click “Connect Wallet” on the Linea card at this link and add the network.
Bridge some ETH to Linea using the native bridge - You will need ETH on Ethereum Mainnet to complete this task. Head over to Linea Native Bridge and enter the amount of ETH you want to bridge, select “Automatic Claiming” and then “Start Bridging”. Your ETH should arrive in your Linea wallet within 20 minutes. We recommend that you complete this task as using the native network bridge is often a requirement for airdrops.
Bridge using the Stargate Finance bridge - Using LayerZero’s technology you can bridge to and from Linea in under 5 minutes. Head over to Stargate Finance and increase your eligibility for a LayerZero airdrop too!
Perform an on-chain asset swap and/or provide liquidity - Get some transactions on chain - head over to SyncSwap on Linea Mainnet. If you really want to get serious, stake some liquidity and check out other providers in the Linea DeFi ecosystem like iZUMi finance.
Purchase an NFT - Head over to Bilinear NFT marketplace and grab yourself an NFT (or three). The marketplace displays the top collections for sale - including the Linea Voyage NFTs (rewarded to early testnet participants)…
Join the Linea Guild - Obtain your Linea Guild.xyz pin by linking your wallet and completing a small verification task.
